Physical safety review · SMEs & mid-caps
What holds your business together is not in your balance sheet.
Archimede measures the physical safety of your business — what comes in, what you produce, what goes out — from data you already own. A first filter in one hour, not a six-month audit.
27 equally weighted indicators · 3 pillars · simple, accessible data · no data published
Illustrative simulation, using the data of one real anonymised company.
Where do you start?
Four situations, four ways of using Archimede. Pick yours: you will land directly on what concerns you.
Three pillars, a single reading
Every company runs the same process: take in resources, turn them into value, produce consequences. Archimede measures the safety of those three moments, and translates each figure into a risk rather than leaving it as a raw number.
Circularity
Recycling, supply, fluidity. The financial weight of what comes in, its tension, where it comes from, and how much material is already available locally — in short, how much confidence you can place in your inputs.
Profitability
Margin, recurrence, revenue. Not growth to be optimised, but your ability to absorb a shock: margin level, how your revenue is spread, and how sensitive it is to a changing climate.
Externality
End of life, impacts, emissions. The more the mill puts back into the river, the more likely it is to jam its own wheel: pollution produced, how repairable what you sell is, and nuisance that could reach your reputation.
We are the compass, you are the captain. The rule that holds all the others: Archimede does not decide your course.
You gather what you already have
Turnover, margins, supply costs, energy, headcount. No dedicated data collection, no consultant to commission: about one hour of input.
Seven indicators fill themselves in
Inflation, working days, the carbon intensity of the power grid, sector benchmarks: Archimede fetches them. There is nothing for you to look up.
You decide
You build transition scenarios and compare them. No hidden weighting: all 27 indicators carry the same weight, and the action paths are readable.

What Archimede is, and what it is not
| Archimede | Audit | |
|---|---|---|
| Time | About one hour of input | Two to six months |
| Data | What you already have | Dedicated collection exercise |
| Output | 27 equally weighted indicators, action paths | A detailed report |
| Use | Continuous steering, compared scenarios | A one-off exercise |
| What it is not | No label, no compliance, no bank recognition | May aim at regulatory compliance |
Archimede is a first filter, not an audit. It tells you where to look; it does not replace regulatory expertise where that is required.

What we are asked most
Is this an audit, or a compliance exercise?
Neither, and we will never claim otherwise. Archimede is a first physical-safety filter: it points out where your business is fragile so you can decide what to look at next. No label, no bank or regulatory recognition is issued.
I have no environmental data. Does that block me?
No. We start from the real: turnover, margins, supply costs, energy, headcount. You already hold all of it. About an hour of input is enough for a first reading, and seven indicators fill themselves in automatically.
My data is sensitive.
Your compasses remain yours and are not published. Comparisons between companies are anonymised, and organisations let you ring-fence each client. Sharing with your teams or suppliers stays under your control.
We already have a carbon partner.
That is complementary. Carbon covers part of what goes out, whereas Archimede also looks at what comes in and what you produce. A well-executed carbon assessment can hide a critical supplier dependency.
Why do you say physical safety rather than sustainability?
Because the word sustainability now serves as an alibi for a great deal of talk. What we measure is more concrete and less comfortable: what could stop your business from continuing. We call that physical safety, and we stick to it.
What if I disagree with the result?
That is expected: we do not sit in judgement on a company. Archimede is a compass, not a pilot. The transition scenarios exist precisely so you can test your own decisions, including the ones that contradict the first reading.
Take one hour to test your resilience.
You leave with your three pillars, your weak points and one action path — whether or not you continue with us.
